Difficult News to share...
Dear My Sister's House Sisters and Supporters,
It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you that we will be closing the doors of My Sister's House. Much time has been spent by our board in prayer and contemplation over this decision. We do not have the finances to continue. The home that we have been graciously leasing is currently on the market for sale Financially we are unable to relocate at this time. We are in the process of finding new housing and support for our current residents, with plans to close the doors on September 30th. We will be looking at the viability of possibly reopening at a new location in the future.
We are very thankful for your support. So many have given of time, resources and gifts. Over the course of two years we have loved, housed, fed, clothed, encouraged and empowered twenty-two young women. As an organization ran and operated completely by volunteers and by private donations, this important work could not have happened without you. We have been blessed by the relationships grown with our young residents, and with each other. Thank You!
Please pray for continued provision for the young women at My Sister's House andall of the young women in our community who need transitional housing and support to reach independence.
If you are a current monthly sponsor, volunteer or contributor we thank you for your dedicated support! Many of you have been faithful in giving of your time and resources since the beginning. We ask that you please continue your support through the next couple of months, as we are still in need of both volunteer and financial support. We are in a difficult place to fundraise as we are closing the doors, but there are still young women we are serving and additional expenses in closing ($7,900 estimated).
If you feel so led to help, your financial gifts will be used in helping young woman relocate as well as covering balances on yearly premiums and payment plans for things like propane and insurance.
We are thankful for your continued support which will allow us to finish well and with Love. From the beginning of this journey together we have built My Sister's House on a foundation of Love and grace; we have been obedient to the mission. We have been blessed to love and walk closely with twenty-two wonderful young women, and blessed to walk with you.
